Mini Cassette Transcriber / Recorder With Optional Microphone

Philips Executive Desktop 730T comes with earphones and foot control for professional transcription, plus helpful functions like Automatic Backspace Play. The Desktop 730 also features recording functions as well as transcription with the addition of an optional microphone. Mini Cassettes are the only media designed specially for the constant stop/start demands of dictation, giving you greater lifelong reliability, security and control in a miniature format. Recording begins instantly with your touch or the sound of your voice so there is no word clipping. And because Mini Cassettes have no "pinch wheel" (unlike other cassettes) there is no risk of tape tangle or distortion.

Visual Workflow Display

The Desktop 730 offers efficient dictation and transcription, thanks to the Visual Workflow Display. Your recordings can be identified and located easily based on their priority and length. Visual Workflow Display gives you all the information you need about the system at any time during dictation or transcription, making it easy to see all the contents of a cassette at a glance and to move quickly from one item to another.

The Visual Workflow Display gives you all the information you deed for dictation and transcription in a clear, concise form, offering both author and transcriptionist maximum convenience and ease of use. Visual Workflow Management is the means by which you can optimally control the flow of work from dictation through transcription thanks to the information always available from the Visual Workflow Display. For the author, Visual Workflow Management means an easily readable visual display of information that shows you at a glance just how much dictation you have already done, including the number of priority jobs and special instructions.

The secretary has the option of automatically scanning a cassette as soon as it is inserted in the 730. This makes it easier to plan their work, since they can see immediately exactly how much work there is to do, and whether there are any priority jobs or special instructions that need to be typed up first.

Auto Rewind

Especially for transcription, when autorewind is enabled, the Executive Desktop 730 and 725 automatically rewind the cassette to the beginning as soon as it is inserted. The rewind arrows in the LCD display show you that the tape is being rewound. The autorewind switch can be set to OFF if you do not wish to take advantage of this feature.

Auto Rewind Scan

The Executive Desktop 730's Auto Rewind function features the added benefit of Auto Rewind Scan. When autorewind is enabled, the Desktop 730 automatically rewinds the cassette to the beginning as soon as it is inserted. While rewinding the cassette, the 730 scans its contents for Visual Workflow Display information.

Search Forward and Skip Functions

Pressing the SEARCH key once causes the tape to be wound automatically to the next index marking from the current position. Press the SEARCH key multiple times to skip ahead. For example press the SEARCH key 3 times to skip automatically to the third index marking from the current position.

Turbo Wind

Get fast access to any part of the tape with Turbo Wind. Fast forward or rewind at 20x playback speed.

Audible Scan

Monitor fast forward and rewind with Audible Scan. As the tape winds you can hear it played back at speed, helping you to locate a specific piece of dictation.

Fast Erase

Once you have finished transcribing a tape, you can erase it so that it is ready to take further dictation. Depending where you are on the tape, the fast erase function can be used in either direction: forwards or backwards. The erase function continues until either the beginning of tape is reached or another function is selected.

Record Protection

Automatically replays the last part of the dictation whenever the user stops and then resumes transcribing. The operator can adjust how much to rewind so tape resumes at the most desirable point prior to where it stopped.

Allows you to make recordings using the foot control, leaving both hands free to handle papers, make notes, and so on.

Voice-Activated Recording With Optional Microphone

Voice-activated recording mode is another convenient feature for hands-free dictation. When voice-activated recording is enabled, the Desktop 730 is in Record Standby mode; recording will start automatically when the input level exceeds a certain threshold (i.e. usually when you start dictating). Recording stops a few seconds after you stop speaking and restarts automatically when you start speaking again.

End-of-Letter, Priority Index With Optional Hand-held Microphone

When you are finished and do not want to make any further changes to a dictation, press the LP/Index key on the mic once to mark the current dictation as finished. Pressing the LP/Index key on the mic twice within about 1/2-second sets a Priority Index to mark the current dictation as especially urgent.
