The space-saving Panasonic KX-FLB851 multi-function peripheral is designed to maximize the productivity of a small business or home office with its flexibility and multi-tasking capabilities. The compact multi-function KX-FLB851 provides the advantages of a laser printer, color flatbed scanner, enhanced copier and built-in fax machine in a single space-saving, economical unit.
The top-of-the-line KX-FLB851 offers big office document management features for a small office or workgroup. The model's three-bin Multi-Action sorter can be used to differentiate between documents that have been printed, copied or faxed. Each of the three bins can be assigned to individual users or user groups, providing a designated space to collect their documents.
The ideal complement to the networked workplace, the Panasonic KX-FLB851 can be linked to a group of networked PCs via an optional Network Interface*. When connected, the printer can be used by network users to send documents directly from their PC to the unit for printing or copying, even choosing their own separate output bin, so their documents are mixed with others'. Using the exciting scan to email client and scan to PDF features, users can create email messages to send important color documents as PDFs to business associates, as easily as walking up to the unit, choosing their PC from the automatically updating directory in the unit, and starting the Scan process.
As a fax machine, the KX-FLB851 offers the high quality of any stand-alone laser fax. Incoming fax messages are printed clearly with 64 shades of halftone resolution. Choose from Standard, Fine, Super Fine or Photo resolutions, depending on the document being sent. And, speedy transmissions are made possible, thanks to the unit's 33.6Kbps fax modem. The KX-FLB851 also has fast 18-page-per-minute** laser printing for incoming faxes, and a 280-sheet paper tray. A letter/legal 500-sheet optional cassette ensures that paper doesn't run out and the right paper is used for each print or copy job. The KX-FLB851 features total 10MB memory (630 pages of memory reception with back up and 150 pages of memory transmission).**

When connected to a personal computer via a parallel or USB cable, or to a Local Area Network via the optional LAN card the unit's capabilities multiply. In addition to using the sheet feeder to scan conventional-sized documents, the flatbed can be used for importing content from books or odd-sized documents. Copies can be made from the flatbed or from pages inserted into the sheet feeder. Up to 99 copies can be made from one original and images can be enlarged or reduced. Additionally, this model will collate multiple sheet documents, so that copied pages stay in the original order.
The KX-FLB851 also serves as a high-speed laser printer, capable of printing up to 18 pages per minute with 600x600 dpi resolution. The paper tray can hold up to 280 letter- or legal-size sheets.
