Canon's all-in-one VB-C50i and VB-C50iR (in a reverse mount) pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) network video cameras allow individuals, whether in the back storage room or airport waiting room, to remotely view live video footage even in the most adverse conditions. Designed for such remote monitoring and management applications as security surveillance and web attractions -- such as traffic or tourism -- the VB-C50i network video camera has a built in server that enables users to access and view their facilities from wherever, whenever directly over a LAN or the Internet. Users looking for continual monitoring access to secure locations such as the showroom of a high-end retail store or to the entrance of a warehouse can do so with ease from the confines of their own home. With the video camera's distinctive built-in motion detection and auto tracking system, it can monitor and send out an alert if motion is suspected in any four of the designated areas.

Built-in Network Server

The VB-C50i and VB-C50iR Network Cameras can be connected to the Internet or your LAN in an instant. The camera's built-in Web and FTP server automatically assigns an IP address and provides various supports for networking protocols, including DHCP and DDNS for easy, direct connection to the web and practically any network. Once connected, you're ready for a world of IP monitoring and webcast applications.

The built-in web server and FTP server provide easy viewing access for up to 50 clients simultaneously, beneficial for on-line applications as such as Internet-based remote monitoring and Web-based attraction viewing at tourist destinations and in university settings. Complete control and simultaneous transmission of input image feeds from up to four Canon VB-C50i network video cameras or other video cameras is possible, and even greater flexibility comes from Canon's optional WebView Livescope MV Ver. 2.1, an innovative monitoring software solution that allows user to view up to 16 cameras on one computer screen. The diverse functionality of the VB-C50i camera enables up to 20 preset positions with a preset tour feature that allows automatic panning, tilting and zooming.

The VB-C50i uses the same advanced optical technology that has made Canon a standard of excellence in digital video, making screening and identification in secure buildings extremely accurate. A Genuine Canon 26X optical zoom lens/12X digital zoom (312x combined) captures fine detail from far distances, making it possible to more effectively gather high-quality images.

Excellent Low-Light Performance

Security professionals require clear images even in dark environments, and now they can monitor dimly lit locations with Canon's VB-C50i Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera. The camera will capture clear color images in dim lighting all the way down to a single lux thanks to a highly-sensitive CCD, bright lens and slow shutter capability. Images are further enhanced with automatic noise reduction in both bright and dim light.

Night Imaging with Infrared Light

A Night Mode with built-in infrared light allows the camera to capture clear black and white images even in complete darkness. The built-in IR light is effective up to 9.8 feet, and can turn on a commercially available long range-IR light, allowing security administrators to increase their viewing options in varied locations such as dimly lit parking lots, university campuses, hospitals, and warehouse facilities.

Multi-Streaming Capability

Viewers with slower connections or video-enabled cell phones may not want or be able to receive the VB-C50i/VB-C50iR camera's highest-quality video, given its larger file size. For customable flexibility, the camera simultaneously broadcasts in three file sizes from which the viewer can select. The system can accommodate up to 50 clients.

Sophisticated Motion Detection and Auto Tracking

Automatic image capture with 15MB of internal memory for storing still images, activated by schedule, motion detection, or contact sensor. Four areas can be selected for motion detection with the ability to set sensitivity, area ratio, and duration of detected movement. These settings can be independently set in each of the four areas. Auto tracking gives the camera the ability to pan and tilt once motion is detected, and capture this movement automatically.

Advanced Scheduling Functions

The camera's scheduling function allows you to specify when to record images or output signals to an external device, such as an alarm. You can schedule by week, date, time, motion-detection and more.

Viewer-Controlled Pan, Tilt and Zoom

A wide range of on-screen controls, and a precision mechanism that minimizes shaking and vibration make it easy to adjust pan, tilt and zoom to the exact view you need. With a wide-ranging pan of +/-100 degrees and tilt of +90/-30 degrees, the VB-C50i can quickly survey entire office areas and warehouses, covering far more territory than fixed cameras. The reverse mount VB-C50iR features a pan of +/- 170 degrees and tilt of +10/-90 degrees. You can even capture panoramic images.

Optional Multiple Connector Interface

The optional VB-EX50 Multi-Terminal Module provides a multiple-connector interface for secure wire connections. These include: BNC-video in for an external video camera and out for reliable video signal transmission by users who don't require IP-based video, and external sensor in/out for interfacing with external lighting or alarms.
