Dedicated Pentax / Samsung Flash Functions Including P-TTL Flash Control and P-TTL High Speed Synchronization (P-TTL-HSS)

The compact and powerful Metz 48AF-1PS has been specifically designed for Pentax and Samsung cameras, in particular their digital SLRs. The supported flash functions depend on the specific camera model used. The P-TTL flash mode with measuring preflash is a further development of the standard TTL flash mode of analog cameras. During the shot and before the actual exposure, one or more almost indiscernible preflashes are executed by the flash unit. The light reflected by the preflash is evaluated by the camera. According to the evaluation, the subsequent flash exposure will be adjusted by the camera to suit the situation.

In addition, the Metz MZ55423 Bounce Diffuser is available as an optional accessory to scatter and diffuse bounce flash lighting.

With a similarly-integrated snap-out wide angle lens diffuser, the 48 AF-1 digital can even illuminate wide-angle lens focal lengths from 18mm (35mm format).

Wireless Remote Flash Mode

Wireless remote operation is compatible with the Canon E-TTL remote system. The remote system consists of a master flash unit on the camera and one or more slave flash units. The slave flash unit(s) is/are triggered by wireless remote control by the secondary reflector of the master flash unit. The light of the secondary reflector does not contribute to the exposure of the shot in this case.
