Replacing the 3437 head, the Manfrotto 460MG 3D Magnesium Three-Way Head is an innovative 3D head unlike any other. Cast from lightweight magnesium, the 460MG can be positioned in virtually any position to get the exact framing of the image. The lock system using spring-loaded conical joints allows greater flexibility than any other 3D head whether mounted on a tripod center column or lateral arm. The rubber grip knobs provide finger tip control and won't poke you in the eye like conventional handles do. The 460MG is the ideal head in combination with the MagFiber line for 35mm SRLs and medium format cameras, both digital and film. The quick release camera plate has a secondary safety catch for added security.

Very Flexible Camera Positioning

You can turn your camera through more than 90 degrees with the 460MG head. This allows flexible positioning and framing even if the tripod isn't perfectly level due to uneven terrain, or if you're shooting with the column inverted or (in the case of PRO tripods) mounted horizontally.

RC2 Quick Release Camera Plate System With Secondary Security Lock

The 460MG is equipped with a 200PL-14 quick release camera plate system. The compact, rectangular 200PL quick release plate system fits neatly under small-bodied still cameras up to SLR (even with tele lenses) or small medium format, or under small video cameras or spotting scopes. Its rubber pad gives a good grip without damaging the camera, and its angled sides ensure that it also fits perfectly and tightly into a wide range of Manfrotto heads. The 200PL-14 features a secondary security lock so you can't accidentally release the plate (and camera) without meaning to. The lock stops the quick release lever from opening fully.
