The 055XDB,804RC2 is a complete kit consisting of the Manfrotto 055XDB Black Basic Tripod and the 804RC2 Pan/Tilt Head. Lightweight, sturdy and portable, the Basic Tripod is one of the easiest of all Manfrotto tripods to handle. The 055XDB tripod has been designed for all 35mm and medium format photographic cameras, digital or conventional type. Equipped with a two way head, the 055XDB can also be an ideal support for spotting scopes or digital video camcorders.

The 804RC2 3-way photo head is constructed of ultra-durable and lightweight technical polymer that reduces the weight of the head to a mere 1.74 pounds while retaining the strength and stability to easily withstand the daily rigors of the professional photographer. The lower profile 804RC2 features a spirit level and a fixed counterbalance spring on the tilt motion to help support varying equipment loads of up to 8.8 lbs. Ergonomic and newly designed handles fit comfortably in the hand, while the standard quick release plate fits snugly in the low-profile receiver.

Four Different Leg Angle Pre-sets

Four pre-set independent leg angles -- 23°, 45°, 65° and 88° -- give the tripod great positioning flexibility and versatility, and allow all intermediate heights from the stated minimum to maximum levels to be reached. Stability is assured at all four angles by the spring-loaded step mechanism. Each of the legs can be set to a different angle of spread for more flexible, versatile positioning and to help keep camera equipment well-balanced over the tripod's center of gravity. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism has been greatly improved.

The 804RC2 3-way photo head is a 3-way photo head constructed of ultra-durable and lightweight technical polymer. The 804RC2 easily withstands the daily rigors of the professional photographer. A unique spring feature has been added to the 804RC2 to assist in the tilt motion of the head to compensate for heavier, off-center loads. Ergonomic and newly designed handles fit comfortably in the hands, while the standard quick release plate fits snugly in the low-profile receiver.

Safety Spring

The 804RC2 head is the first head in the world to use a counter spring system to help protect your equipment. A fixed spring built into the forward/back tilt axis helps to absorb the shock of the full camera weight from crashing down. The spring also makes it easier to position the camera on this axis since it opposes some of the camera weight.

Lightweight

Compared to the old 3030, the 804RC2 is 20% lighter thanks to a new material called Adapto specifically developed by Manfrotto for the use with high-end, professional imaging equipment.
