The Bug-255 UL backpack features a combination of technology, materials and design which embody the ultimate essence of lightweight protection without compromises. It will fit a Pro DSLR with up to 300mm lens and battery grip attached, plus an extra body, 5-6 lenses, a flash and other accessories. For video, it will hold a compact HDV camcorder with many accessories. It will also accommodate up to a 17-inch laptop.

The unique design provides quick, separate access to your main camera and lens set-up while your primary lenses, flash and other accessories fit snuggly around them. Custom dedicated compartments can be created using the Aeriform Dividers and Cocoon pouches. Secondary accessories such as cables and chargers fit neatly out of the way in the zippered pockets on the front flap. A padded laptop compartment is located along the rear of the pack, while additional storage is available in the multiple flat external pockets, one of which is designated for a small water bottle. The Bug-KIT PL can be purchased separately if you wish to add a 17-inch laptop sleeve, two large storage pouches and an adjustable waist belt.

The EPH System allows you to set the configuration required for the mission. You can attach two or three products that are EPH System Compatible into a set.

Gecko Harness

Unique molded EVA foam harness straps feature 3D-tapered thickness so as to provide extra cushioning where it counts, the micro hatch texture secures backpack positioning firmly and comfortably, while the shapely contour fits your body organically.

Double Sided Elements Cover

An emergency Elements Cover is included with the KATA Bug-255 UL to protect your case and equipment in inclement weather: black side out in rain or snow, and in sun reverse to silver for heat reflection.

Aluminum Skeleton

The formed Aluminum Alloy frame delivers ultra light structural protection and perfect weight distribution.

Spine Guard

The spring steel Spine Guard, encased in specially formed foam provides ultimate structural protection.

Aeriform Foams

Incredible Modularity

The fantastic modularity allows you to make the Bug-255 UL even lighter by simply removing components that are not necessary for your current task. Three removable padded inserts help you define the level of protection you want.

Aeriform Camera Straps

The light, flexible and airy Aeriform camera strap can be used individually or interconnected to the two designated loops on the backpack harness, thus providing frontal carrying for your camera without having an additional strap around your neck.

Laptop Compartment

Along the back panel a full length, top-access, Elasto-Guard laptop pocket will hold up to a 17-inch laptop.

"Yelloop" Interior With Modi-Vers Divider System

Like most KATA products, the Bug-255 UL is constructed with their special "Yelloop" interior made of a loop fabric to which you can fasten dividers. The interior is a bright yellow, so the contents can be viewed with ease.

Lens Pillow

Takes unwanted stress off and provide support for your heavy video or photo lens. Situates underneath the base of lens to comfortably support and protect your gear during transport.

Included Tripod Holder

A small tripod can be attached to either the front or the side of the Bug-255 UL with KATA's included tripod straps. The included tripod sling can be used as a docking base to secure the tripod.
