The compact KATA R-103 Rucksack is designed to hold DV camcorders such as the Canon GL-2, Sony PD-170, Panasonic DVX100A and JVC GY-DV300. Additional accessories, tapes, batteries, filters, charger, cables and personal essentials can be stored in the spacious arched lid compartment, the two outside pockets and the central mesh/vinyl pocket, while a rear compartment will hold a laptop up to 15 inches.

The special design gives quick, separate access to the camcorder or camera in the central compartment, while the rest of the equipment surrounding it remains secure. The R-103's ergonomic harness includes a unique cushioning and shock absorbing system, which allows for optimal ventilation, weight distribution and 5-point adjustment mechanism.

The R-103 includes a well-padded dividing set, which allows you to organize its main compartment to fit your requirements, and two modular mesh pouches which allow you ultimate versatility in setup. If needed, extra Modi-Vers-Kit is available. In addition, the R-103 includes a TST tripod holder with its connecting V shape device and an upper adjustable strap (the tripod can be carried on the central part of the Rucksack or on one of the sides).

Specially designed Camera Straps can be attached to the D rings on the harness and will take the camera load off your neck (they can be turned into a regular camera strap by connecting to the provided extender). A detachable hip belt can be connected to the bottom back loops that are also designed to attach the R-103 to KATA's EPH system.

Full protection on the main zipper and KATA's unique cover make sure your sensitive equipment is well protected from the elements.

KATA EPH (Ergonomic Photo) System Compatible

The EPH System allows you to set the configuration required for the mission. You can attach two or three products that are EPH System Compatible into a set: The W-92 Waist Pack together with the R-103 Rucksack will create a big backpack, for example. This is only one of more than 15 different possible combinations.

TST (Thermo Shield Technology)

TST is a state-of-the-art solution that gives the perfect protection for the digital equipment while creating an extremely light product.

1. The outer surface of the TST is thermo-formed in a protective "ribshape" construction (Patent Pending).
2. It is made of Super Nylon -- a Mil-Std, double cord, water and dust proof, high tenacity and abrasion-resistance fabric.
3. Underneath, a cross-linked, closed cell PE+EVA shield is impact and shock protective while providing comprehensive insulation against cold, heat and moisture.
4. The internal padding provides the necessary cushioning and vibration reduction.
5. The lining is KATA's unique Yelloop material which is fabricated especially for the anti-scratch and anti-static requirements while allowing divider attachment for internal partitioning.

Filter Sleeve Connector for Optional Filter Sleeves

KATA Filter Sleeves are flat translucent pouches designed to hold round filters. They come in three sizes: Up to 43mm, Up to 62mm, Up to 82mm. This KATA case comes with a Filter Sleeve connector, which is a designated strap-connector that allows you to secure as many KATA Filter Sleeves as necessary.

"Yelloop" Interior With Optional Modi-Vers Divider System

Like most KATA products, the R-103 is constructed with their special "Yelloop" interior made of a loop fabric to which you can fasten dividers.
