KATA's HB-205 Hiker Backpack features a level of protection you haven't seen before. KATA's Thermo Shield Technology (TST) protection safeguards the camera compartment and the bottom of the case while keeping it light. The extensive main compartment easily accommodates a variety of DV camcorders up to the Sony HDR-FX1, Panasonic DVX100A or similar. For photographers, the main compartment easily accommodates 2-3 SLR bodies together with up to 8 lenses.

Two soft TST open pockets for water bottles or a small tripod, and an assortment of pockets all work together to provide the ultimate carrying and protecting solution for outdoor photographers. A tripod can be carried attached to the backpack by KATA's TST Tripod Holder.

The main compartment features a unique internal dividing system, which allows for a broad diversity of equipment set-ups, while ensuring everything is easily accessable. If additional division is necessary, additional KATA Modi-Vers Kits can be purchased. A tripod can be attached to either the front or the side of the backpack with KATA's included tripod holder. The HB-205's advanced harness system is designed for complete adjustment of all components: shoulder straps, 6-point adjustable waist belt and lumbar pad, ensuring the perfect ergonomic fit for each individual carrier. When not in use, the harness can be neatly folded out of the way for easy storage or to allow for the addition of KATA's Insertrolley.

KATA EPH (Ergonomic Photo) System Compatible

The EPH System allows you to set the configuration required for the mission. You can attach two or three products that are EPH System Compatible into a set: The HB-205 Backpack together with the T-212 Torso Pack will give a combination that has high storage volume and optimal weight distribution, for example. This is only one of more than 15 different possible combinations.

TST (Thermo Shield Technology)

TST is a state-of-the-art solution that gives the perfect protection for the digital equipment while creating an extremely light product.

1. The outer surface of the TST is thermo-formed in a protective "ribshape" construction (Patent Pending).
2. It is made of Super Nylon -- a Mil-Std, double cord, water and dust proof, high tenacity and abrasion-resistance fabric.
3. Underneath, a cross-linked, closed cell PE+EVA shield is impact and shock protective while providing comprehensive insulation against cold, heat and moisture.
4. The internal padding provides the necessary cushioning and vibration reduction.
5. The lining is KATA's unique Yelloop material which is fabricated especially for the anti-scratch and anti-static requirements while allowing divider attachment for internal partitioning.

An emergency Elements Cover is included with the KATA HB-205 to protect your case and equipment in inclement weather: black side out in rain or snow, and in sun reverse to silver for heat reflection.

Included Tripod Holder

KATA's TST Tripod Holder is a modular and versatile sling pouch designed to connect your tripod on the outside of the KATA backpacks. A tripod can be attached to either the front or the side of the HB-205 with KATA's included tripod holder.

"Yelloop" Interior With Optional Modi-Vers Divider System

Like most KATA products, the HB-205 is constructed with their special "Yelloop" interior made of a loop fabric to which you can fasten dividers. The interior is a bright yellow, so the contents can be viewed with ease. If needed, Modi-Vers kits are available, enabling you to create compartments inside the case that meet your exact requirements.

The HB-205 comes with a carrying system concealment unit, which gives you rapid access to the harness and waist belt and allows easy repackaging when needed. The harness itself is ergonomically designed to sit comfortably on your shoulders. It has a special padding and a zigzag shape to provide optimal weight distribution. A waist belt is provided for more stability and there's a fully-padded six-point, adjustable detachable hip belt.

Insertrolley Compatible

The simple yet ingenious Insertrolley System can be used with many Kata cases. It allows you to either use the trolley separately or with more than one case. Simply slide the trolley through the sleeve on the cases for secure and easy mobility. You can detach the trolley when you want to store it and easily replace it if damaged. Patented extendable wheel system helps to better stabilize larger cases.
