The Gitzo GH5380S Systematic Center Ball Head supports cameras up to 66 pounds. This translates to a 165-pound payload measured according to Gitzo's competitors' standard, directly on the head attachment screw. This method leads to a maximum payload 2.5 times higher than the Gitzo standard. Gitzo's standard is more severe and uses a 4.7-inch lever to simulate equipment center of gravity. It can also fit "Arca style" plates by means of the specific adapter (GS5160CDT). The head is designed to fit Gitzo systematic tripods. The connection system dramatically increases stability and makes your equipment a monolithic piece. It can also be combined to other tripods by a standard 3/8-inch screw attachment.

The system allows you to set the friction by means of a button that sets the stroke of the locking collar. The system generates strong locking power (equivalent to 480 kg / 1022 pounds of pressure) and allows for quicker and more ergonomic control.
